After Richard got laid off from Honeywell, he reached out to several organizations, including Pikes Peak Workforce Center, Raytheon, and Lockheed Martin.
They discussed some options with Richard and explained that Richard needed to secure some key IT certifications to verify his skills and he could potentially qualify for several IT jobs immediately.

Kay at the Pikes Peak Workforce center connected him with Qwincy Houston, an IT Career Training Consultant at LeaderQuest.
Qwincy worked with Richard to establish solid career goals and helped him enroll in the classes that would set him on the fastest track to achieving those goals.
Cyber Security Training Begins

Richard started training right away for his CompTIA Security+ certification with LeaderQuest.
He also began working with LeaderQuest IT Career Services to improve his resume writing skills, find and prepare for job interviews, and improve his online visibility with a stand-out LinkedIn profile.

“Little did I know that I wouldn’t even have time to complete my certification!”
One of our star career services team at LeaderQuest, Kimberly Archer, reached out to a connection at Raytheon on Richard’s behalf.
Richard received a job offer from Raytheon halfway through his training and before he earned his Security+ certification!
Richard is currently studying hard for the CompTIA Security+ certification exam. After training with LeaderQuest, he is making $10,000 more than he was at his previous position!
Richard plans to continue training for his CEH and to utilize tuition reimbursement through his new company to continuously earn more IT certifications. Kimberly Archer is still helping him keep his LinkedIn profile and resume polished and up-to-date.
