Overview
Configuring Server 2008 ADS 1.0 is highly recommended for any
individual responsible Windows Server 2008 Active Directory
environments. This course provides learns with the knowledge and
skills to configure Active Directory Domain Services in a
distributed environment, implement Group Policies, perform backup
and restore, and monitor and troubleshoot Active Directory related
issues, as well as the ability to configure identity and access
solutions.
Target Audience
This course prepares students for the Microsoft Certified
Technology Specialist (MCTS) on Windows Server 2008 credential and
as such, it is intended for IT professionals who work in the
complex computing environment of medium-sized to large companies.
In keeping with the requirements of the MCTS exams, it is
recommended that students have a minimum of one year of experience
implementing and administering a network operating system in an
environment that has the following characteristics:
- 250 to 500 or more users
- Three or more physical locations
- Three or more domain controllers
- Various network services and resources such as messaging,
database, file and print and client computer management
- Connectivity requirements, such as interconnecting multiple
offices and individual users in remote locations
Prerequisites
To fully benefit from this course, students should possess a
fundamental knowledge of Microsoft server technologies and the
Microsoft Active Directory as used in previous versions of the
operating system, as well as a general understanding of basic
networking principles.
