Overview/Description
Managing Projects with Microsoft Office Project 2007 is designed
to provide in-depth understanding of collecting, analyzing and
reporting project data using Microsoft's software. The curriculum
covers critical project management topics like creating and
controlling schedules, using work breakdown structure (WBS) codes,
leveling resources, monitoring costs against baselines and
reporting progress. This series includes other topics that can
increase the efficiency of a project manager such as creating
templates, creating customized forms and managing data across
multiple projects. The goal of this course is to make tracking
time, cost and resources easy so that project managers can focus on
successful project completion.
Target Audience
This course is recommended for any person who is involved in
tracking, analyzing or reporting project performance. Individuals
who have already or are interested in pursuing a project based
certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP®) will
benefit from the interweaving of project processes and Microsoft
tools. This course also provides the information necessary to pass
the exam towards Microsoft certification.
Prerequisites
To fully benefit from this course, students should have an
intermediate understanding of projects and an intermediate
understanding of computer technology from an end-users perspective.
Computer networking skills are not required.
