Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions (DESGN)
2.0
Overview/Description
Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions (DESGN) 2.0 allows
students to gain an understanding of how to design a scalable
internetwork that supports a converged network solution. This
course covers a wide range of topics such as Cisco's Enterprise
Architecture, selecting and provisioning WAN technologies, and
designing a routed infrastructure that is secure and supports IP
telephony. A new addition to the course is a module on Cisco's
wireless LAN solution. In addition to general approaches and
technologies for network design, the DESGN 2.0 course promotes
Cisco solutions in designing and implementing scalable
internetworks.
Target Audience
Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions (DESGN) v2.0 was
developed for networking professionals who want to learn more about
Cisco's network design principles. This course is the recommended
training program for those individuals seeking the Cisco Certified
Design Associate (CCDA) certification. Note: As of 2007, students
seeking the Cisco CCDA certification must first obtain Cisco's CCNA
certification. This change to Cisco's certification program
reflects the challenging nature of this curriculum.
Prerequisites
To benefit fully from this course, the following prerequisite
courses, skills, and knowledge are strongly recommended:
- A current CCNA certification, or equivalent knowledge and
experience, including successful completion of CCNA
coursework.
- Familiarity with IP addressing, subnetting and route
summarization
- Familiarity with routing and switching concepts
- Practical experience with deploying and operating networks
based on Cisco network devices and Cisco IOS software, as well as
functional knowledge of Cisco wireless and QoS topics.
- Successful completion of the course Building Cisco Multilayer
Switched Networks
